Serve the Lord: Join a Committee

ChristChurch Presbyterian has a cross-committee structure that strives to grow the church through hospitality, gain strength through worship, develop warmth through membership care, create depth through education, increase breadth through service, maintain integrity through administration, maintain our campus, and increase discipline through stewardship.  Most committees meet once per month for an hour.  All members are encouraged to join a committee and share the gifts God has given them.

Administration Committee oversees the general operation of the church and its budget.  This committee’s goal is to administer the church’s financial resources effectively to promote the mission of our congregation. Administration Committee meets on the second Monday of each month at 7:00 pm. Their moderator is Woody Speer.

Building and Grounds Committee maintains and enhances our property to ensure it is attractive, safe, comfortable, and consistent with the goals of the church.  This committee works with contract resources to keep the property in good repair and hosts work days at the church each year to make minor repairs and clean up the facility.  This committee meets on the third Sunday of each month at 11:30am.  Committee moderator is John Becker.

Child Development Center (CDC) Committee supervises the work of the CDC.  With the assistance of the CC Director, this committee monitors the CDC budget, communication with CDC parents, and CDC improvements to help make our CDC the best childcare facility available.  This committee meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30pm.  Committee Moderator is Amy Gremillion.

The Connection Committee prides itself in connecting many areas of our church life including the welcoming and assimilating of visitors and new members to our congregation, the care and concern for members, and the gathering of members and visitors for numerous fellowship opportunities. This committee sponsors the annual Mo Ranch church retreat, monthly Better Bunch trips, the Wednesday Night Suppers and other church dinners, and bereavement response for our church.

Education Committee provides Chirstian education for the church.  This committee oversees Sunday School, special Bible study programs, Junior and Senior High youth fellowship, and opportunities for all ages and levels to grow in faith.  In addition to weekly events, this committee coordinates Eggstravaganza, Rally Day, the Prayer Path, Youth Mission Trips and retreats. Education Committee meets 4th Mondays at 6:30 pm.

Mission Committee is the steward of spiritual gifts.  Out of this committee comes the Mission Mall, Living Waters of the World Mission Trip opportunities, benevolence giving, blood drives, recycling projects and more. Mission Committee meets on first Mondays at 6:30 pm.

Personnel Committee works with the pastors on job responsibilities, personnel performance evaluations, personnel self development and policies, staff continuance, long-range and future staffing needs, and recruiting and hiring of non-ordained staff. Personnel Committee meets on the second Wednesday of each month at 7:00 pm.

Worship Committee assists the church staff in planning worship services that are inspiring and enjoyable for members and visitors.  The Worship Committee plans special worship services throughout the liturgical year including Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, and Christmas Eve, as well as Jazz Sunday and Kirking of the Tartans. Worship Committee meets on the second Monday of each month at 4:30 pm.
